Giant Slayer

When people hear the story of David and Goliath, sometimes they think, “That was all God.” And yes, in a sense, it was all God; but God didn’t sling the stone. David had a role to play, too. God gave David the skill that he had to develop in order to be prepared for that defining moment.

Like David, God has put skills inside of you so that you can slay the giants in your life. You have the skills that can open new doors, skills that can lead to an abundant life, but the key is that the skills have to be developed. Every day that you spend growing, learning and improving, you’re getting prepared for that new level.

Today, while you’re waiting for that new opportunity, start sharpening your skills. Study your boss. Study your manager. Learn that position. Be able to step into their shoes. When God sees that you are prepared, then He can open new doors. The scripture says, “Your gifts will make room for you.” Keep developing your skills because there is a giant slayer in you!

would you join me in saying this prayer?
Father, thank You for depositing in me everything that I need for victory in my life. I choose to be faithful. I choose to sharpen my skills. Help me be prepared for every opportunity You have for my future in Jesus’ name. Amen.

MY CYCLING ADVENTURE...

firstly wanna thank everyone who takes time out to read my blog... i have almost 6,500 blog hits at the moment, my target is 10,000 by december and i appreciate and celebrate you all for your time, data and encouragement. furthermore i would love to hear feedback from you about your opinions on the posts, how they have been of impact to your lives  and also suggestions on topics you would want me to treat... you can leave me a comment on either the particular post you like or on the testimony page of my blog. you can also send me a mail at tgbamila@gmail.com

...And so for years when asked what are your hobbies I would always say "cycling, writing, swimming, travelling and talking," if you've met me you'll know I swim really well, maybe someday I'll post about it with pictures, till date my friend Ikanke Roberts calls me pappy water,(since anytime I say let's hang out Na swimming pool), and then even my parents nicknamed me Ajala(saying I travel too much, even though na them i use am resemble, i no talk anything ooo)  of course if you're reading my blog I'm sure you don't need more proof that I love writing. And as for talking? Ohhh meet me once and all doubt will be cleared.

What's missing? Oh I forgot. Cycling. I earned the name 'bicycle rider' from my great uncle Mr Ajayi (fondly called daddy Ikotun by members of my family) when I was about 10 years old. And till today I haven't been able to shake off the title.in fact i think he remembers the title and not my name... Even though I can't remember getting on a bicycle in the last 9 years.

Well for a while I've been trying to watch my weight and I decided to go back to my lost hobby cycling. And then things began to prove tough and from there comes the following lessons.

1.Not everyone will buy into your vision/even those closest to you- it would have been very easy for me to give up on my cycling quest as all I got was opposition from every angle, some felt I was too old, some felt I was just following a whim, others felt I was just being careless with money. Some others However, long story short if I had gone by what people said I would have given up.

2. Help comes from above and not from abroad, - after making up my mind to buy the bicycle the next thing was to make enquiries on how much one would cost. I was shocked by what I found out as some bicycles cost as much a one million naira,(chai money for brand new kia picanto and change) well I decided to go for the cheapest good one and the price came to 40,000 naira. Thus it became a prayer point and then one day a friend of mine drew my attention to an ongoing promo by a store on the island. They had slashed the price by half. The bicycles were selling for 20,000 naira, I immediately rallied round my friends on bbm and told them all to contribute o, so the promo wouldn't pass me by. And thus I started the #finebara campaign.(as my treasure called it,) some people tried to help while some outrightly laughed, some others promised to help, but in the long run one a single cent came out.

3. Everyman needs a push- it was the day one of the people closest to me jolted me into reality that I repented, how could I think it was people I needed to get a project done, so thursday morning I prayed more than usual, my flat mates probably thought I was getting set to go cast out some demons but I was repenting from trust in man and handing it over to the most high. Someone pushed me to realizing I should go back to God. This might be your own push, God has all the answers you need. Go back to the source. Well I prayed into my breakthrough

4.God uses people- on Thursday morning Someone called me and said toffy check this website, they're doing another promo on bicycles, and I checked, and low the same bicycle I wanted was going for 14,000. However the deadline to pay was 3 days and the bicycle would be delivered before the month ended. (Them wan use our money go import the bicycle ni?) However I kept faith, and that same day God completed the money I needed to buy the bicycle with 4,000 extra. The last part was to pay and get it delivered by month end.

5.Tie your request to a divine assignment-  I told God, tomorrow would have been an opportunity for me to meet cyclist from all over Lagos and I would have made contacts, people that need to hear the word of God, people I can preach to,  but if I pay for a bike today I won't get it till month end. And I left it at that. My boss asked me to help him to the airport(it's amazing when you have a boss like mine, who appeals to you to help him do something he can command you to do) so I accepted with joy. As I rounded a corner I saw people offloading foreign bikes and I made a mental note to stop by on my way back from the airport. So on my way back I stopped by and it turns out they were the major suppliers in Ikeja, they also had a promo that was ending that Friday for 20,000. I told them I had seen one for 14,000 and they said if I could prove what I was saying they would lessen the price for me. I showed them the website and they agreed to reduce the price for me to 15,000, and an helmet and lock which cost 5,000 for 3,000.

That was how I paid the exact money God provided, put the bike in the boot and zoomed off, registered for the completion online and found myself on the island by 6:30am yesterday morning. Cutting the long story short, I got my bike, hobby back in force, learnt a lot and of course did ministry there.
Impossible is nothing... God bless you.

HAS THE CHURCH OFFENDED GOD???

Has the church offended God?
first of all, The Church is not a building or a physical structure... the church is the body of christ here on earth,  this is made up of all who have accepted christ as their personal lord and saviour.

My answer is a big  YES

many would disagree with me; maybe they are waiting for God to show up at their door posts with a placard saying I AM OFFENDED

The body of Christ needs to wake up. many Pastors today are more concerned with building numbers instead of building members. they forget that a trailer filled with grass(population) will burn faster than the bag filled with gold(content)
inspite of the numerous churches everywhere the bible says the harvest is plenty but the labourers are few.
We are building multi million cathedrals and forgetting to raise men that will defend it.
let me prove it with a few easily verifiable facts for the 'doubting thomases'
*Do you know that the largest church building in Instanbul(Former Constantinople) in Turkey after it was built was taken over by the muslims before it became a museum.
* In the UK many churches are being bought over by muslims

When we talk of evangelism the muslims' are fast converting people and we Christians are busy exchanging people. We preach to people in one church to come to our own church. Where is the power that brings salvation to them that believe (Rom 1:16b)?

The biggest sin I've seen we Christians commit in this generation is use Gods name in vain
Let me tel u how using easy logic
Premise 1: 'Thou shall not take the name of thy Lord in vain'
Premise 2: 'Unless the Lord builds the house, they that labour do it in vain'
Conclusion: It means vain could also be futility,  no result
We Christians have become so religious, our amen lack results Even when we pray aright because we have misplaced the potency of the spoken word.
In the north now, almost every allahhu akbar takes at least 20lives
What happened to the short prayer that brought fire from heaven in the midst of baal priests?
We need to repent as a church and begin to take God at his word....
He said to us 'Ye shall lay your hands on the sick and they shall recover...' What are we waiting for? Why are there still sick amongst us?
We wonder why Nigeria is as it is today, while lots of prayers are being offered about boko haram and it seems nothing is happening?
We have lost the power behind the word somewhere in the midst of motivational messages,
the church needs to repent... we need to go back to our first love if we need more answered prayers like Elijah of old got instant answers to prayers or like the apostles in the early church.

We caused the slacking so first we need to ask for repentance for 'seemingly' making the gates of hell prevail in our time
Also signs, wonders, back people who preach, when last did you tell anyone about Jesus? Some of us have best friends, colleagues, neigbhours, etc who are unbelievers and we don't share the good news with them,
Let us repent of being selfish and ashamed of the gospel

Now the solution to Nigeria hit me as i prayed this morning

''If my people will turn from their ways and repent, I will forgive their sins and heal their land''

If the church(God's people) repents, Nigeria(our land) MUST be healed. God is not a man to lie

Let us pray

    PUT YOUR PAST BEHIND

And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel?...” (1 Samuel 16: 1).

God queried Samuel's continued mourning for Saul. God already rejected Saul from being King of Israel. So Samuel was mourning over a rejection that happened in the past; he was mourning because of the past; he was encumbered with thoughts of the past.

Friend, God says, forget the past. Stop feeling bad because of things that went wrong in the past; stop mourning on account of the gossips and wickedness that men hurled at you in the past; stop feeling bad for the missed opportunities of the past; forget the disappointments and humiliation you suffered in the past; forget the bad experiences that happened in your past; stop living in the fear and pain of the past.

Samuel's mourning for Saul didn’t make God to reconsider Saul; he mourned for the past in vain. If mourning for the past won't reverse the past or create a better future, then stop mourning. If reminding yourself of past disappointments and heartbreaks will not move you forward, then forget them before they break you further.

Your constant connection to the past will rob you of the opportunity to connect to a better future. If you keep mourning on account of what went wrong, you may not notice that God has begun to make some things right. If you keep focusing on the past, you won't gain a good focus of the future.

Whatever you have experienced in the past is not as important as the future that God wants to make happen for you. Do yourself a favour: forget the past!

Isaiah 43 vs. 18 (GWT) sums it up this way: “Forget what happened in the past, and do not dwell on events from long ago.”

Pray With Me: Lord, I choose to forget the past; my past will not rule my future, in Jesus’ name!

    VACANCY: DREAMERS WANTED

They all shouted: "you fools, you idiot, that will never work what is
even your problem don’t you know plywood weighs more than air?"
To which Orville and Wilbur Wright responded "no it doesn’t we’ll
prove it to you." They went ahead to build the first ever air plane.
    THEY WERE DREAMERS.

"You can never be a great artiste" everyone
told him. "you only have one ear all great artistes must have two ears"
to which Vincent Van Gogh responded “I can’t even hear you” HE
    WAS A DREAMER.

"Are you insane what are you talking about? it can never be possible distributing electricity, you’ll get electrocuted," to which Thomas Edison responded no I won’t I’ll prove it to you he became the first man to distribute electrical light bulb in America, When he died the American Government considered turning off all electrical current in the country for a minute or two as a tribute to him. Thomas Edison WAS A DREAMER.

In 1928 Sir Alexander Fleming discovered Penicillin which
saved Thousands of lives in London and beyond and even today
here we are talking about him because HE WAS A DREAMER.

We will drown you boy if you continue, they said constantly there is
no place for blacks here better quit now or get drowned. To which
he responded “You can only succeed in drowning me if i quit”
Carl Brasher went ahead to be the first African American to
become a U.S Navy Master Diver he also was the first amputee
diver to be re-certified as a U.S Navy Diver. Carl Brasher WAS A
    DREAMER.

Benjamin Franklin people told him you can’t fly a kite in a rain storm but he replied yes you can if you have an electric kite HE WAS A DREAMER.

He told his brothers "I saw in my dream you all bowing down to worship me,"  "hey will you shut up your mouth that can
never be possible, in-fact let us kill him and see what will become
of his dreams" you know the story, Joseph later became the
saviour of them all HE WAS A DREAMER.

Dare to dream, dream big, dream the most impossible things
people think can’t be possible, work at it, give it all you’ve got,
put away negative words and discouragement far from you and
see those dreams become reality. And if anyone, anybody or
anything tells you, you can’t do it or make it then you look
straight into their eyes with all boldness and confidence and you
say YES I CAN and in-fact i'm doing it right now, because that
might be the only thing you will be remembered for in this life.

Lastly let us look at one more man a great Dreamer He told
the people, the rain is coming heavily and the whole world will be
flooded everything is going to be wiped out both humans and
animals both your houses and your belonging everything the rain
will wipe away but don’t worry I will build an ark a very big one
where we all can hide and be preserved when the rain begins but
they replied him with the most common human word IT IS
IMPOSSIBLE, it can never happen stop dreaming of impossible
things the world can’t come to an end we will keep on enjoying
ourselves, as if they were the once that created the world and
themselves in the first place; those who did not come into the ark
were forever destroyed, well most of you know how the story

ended. That man WAS A DREAMER.

Now here I am telling you that you should come into that
same ark which represent CHRIST JESUS for there is a great and
terrible destruction coming to all those who will be left outside
the ark. Do not linger outside my friends, come into the ark
(JESUS) today before it is too late. Forsake everything out there
for they will all perish with the world. Do not ignore this message
as the people in the days of Noah did, JESUS the everlasting ark
is waiting for you, Please do not linger, Christ is coming soon come into the ark                             and he will keep you only if you come. I
might not be an inventor or a great scientist but one DREAM I
have and that which I am telling you is to come into that ark now and be saved.

what do you dream about? if you have never dreamed before the time to begin to dream is now!!!

there is a puzzle only you can solve, all you gotta do is dream!

MY NAME IS JESUGBAMILA JESUTOFUNMI AND I AM A DREAMER.

THE EMERGENCE... in case you missed it...

    Mhen... Mhen... Mhen...
Words cannot describe how I feel right now...
I feel joy boiling up from the inside of me...
I just finished a camp meet in tagged 'the emergence' hosted by Choice Soul Media and the Set man being Pastor Gideon MBA(fondly called PG) mhen, i thank God for the day i met this man of God,(that's a story for another day, Ketim, chai...)
And I must say, this is an experience I don't want to ever recover from. The conference featured various ministers like, Pst Chidi, Pst Edward Addison(UK) Pst Femi Adun(UK) Pst Chingtok Ishaku(Zaria) PST Kingsley Okonkwo(Lagos) Rev Funlola Craig(Lagos) Dr Gbenga, Rev Victor Adeyemi and a host of others...
As I packed my bag on Tuesday to head to camp, little did i know i was going to be going in for an encounter like never before, truth be told i have a thing for camps. many times it's an opportunity to be 'less busy' and just concentrate on God but this year i was trusting God for a personal encounter.

the theme of camp meeting was THE EMERGENCE and i keyed into it form the start, opening session was beautiful as the camp meeting started with a BANG and it was sustained all through the meeting.
the first thing i noticed was the synergy amongst all the speakers, they all had their mannerisms and strengths and ways and methods of communication, but in essence they were all saying the same thing... God was speaking through different people but one voice. it was obvious God meant business this year.

    PICS FROM THE EMERGENCE

    REV's FROM  THE EMERGENCE...

    * God will not give you territories you have not prayed for.- Pst chidi,

in other words, you wanna go round the nations? start praying for the nations! the reason some people have never left their local government area in their lives is because they have not developed a burden for praying for other areas. when you pray for a place, the place becomes opened up to you.

*The Gap between the Pulpit and the congregation wii be breached in this season- Minister Olumide,

for a while now we are used to seeing pastors perform miracles and pray for hours, now God is going to be pouring out his spirit upon the 'everyday' believer and they will do exploits, a burden to pray will envelope everyone and they will pray like never before

*where is that generation that will make the devil afraid when they step out? -PG

*God wants to raise for himself an army... enough is enough of being civilians-PG

*Lonliness is not lack of Affection it is lack of Direction -Pst kingsley Okonkwo,

true words sir...  they need no explanation, if you don't understand, ask for direction

*love is a commitment to caring for someone else's needs all the days of your life, whether you like it or not, whether they deserve it or not- Pst Kingsley Okonkwo,

now that's what i'm talking about
*Love is not a well you fall into, it's a fruit of the spirit, it's a conscious choice...

*Sometimes you have got yto admit you are not that smart-Pst kingsley Okonkwo,

how can you be in a car race with michael Schumacher sitting by your side and you're the one holding the wheel? how can you be on the path to destiny and God is by your side and you're the one holding the wheel?if you have any common sense you will drop the wheel for him. you gotta know when to let Go...

*there are many things you can do to get money, but it's not everything you can do to be fulfilled...

*God gives instructions why don't you just follow instead of wondering how he'll do his part- Rev funlola Craig

for instance God said: "you will lay your hands on the sick and they will recover" so why do you keep trying to analyze how the healing will take place, or what will happen if you lay hands and they don't recover? why are you poknosing into God's business? simply do your part!

i will never forget what the spirit of the lord said.... "you are a generation of ex...ex fornicators, ex adulterers, ex robbers, ex thieves, ex clubbers, ex smokers... and  God is solely interested in using the exes..." God is committed to turning your mess into a message... forget the past, people have seen enough of you in the past, it's time for God to emerge from you...

Pst Edward Addison is a father indeed as he spoke consizely and prophetically... it was just something else, his prophetics were so on point even the decimal mark would get jealous.

you must submerge to emerge- Pst Femi Adun

the final night was just a wow experience, it was on that evening that i got a go ahead in my spirit to minister at the concert and i spoke to Minister David(God bless him, he's so in tune with the spirit) and even as i held the mike i knew this was a different one, it was poetry with a difference, poetry that drove out depression. someone(one of my Oga at the tops) walked to me much later and said you also do spoken words?

but that was just the begining, any camper would flow when i mention the term 'Worshippers collective' i saw an infusion of grace on several ministers life as they led the 'concert turned revival' in worship, i have sseen the holy ghost come down in various forms, but i saw a new dimension, as he came down in form of laughter... and before you know it the whole auditorium was filled with laughter, someone turned to ask his neigbhour why are you laughing and found himself laughing, and in the midst of the laughter i began to hear clearly, God was dealing with various issues that had hiterto proved stubborn, depression fled, destinies were restored, healings took place and basically God showed forth...

i kept one of the most striking moments for me on camp for the last to challenge someone reading this...

statistics show that about 80percent of the muslim world are receptive to the gospel right now, we need to go for the harvest, when a fruit is ripe and is not plucked, it rots and becomes a terror, -Pst Rotimi

we need to go all out and harvest before more fruits become terror... remember just go and preach, don't worry about how they'll be converted, do your part and leave God to do his part...

Ladies and Gentlemen, i have emerged... ande better still God has emerged through me... watch out for me... mo'n meye bo lapo(i am coming in new dimentions)

incase you wanna experience what we did, there are mp3's and dvds of the sessions available... make your enquries at Phone No: 08172013060, 0833440829, 08035227986

GOD BLESS YOU, MINISTER EFFIZEY SIGNING OUT

    Monday 1 September 2014

    10 DEADLY RELATIONSHIP ASSASSINS

ge geun... First of all, i must welcome you into a special season, the begining of the ember months... I pray for you that this will be a september to remember in Jesus name
Well sha i hope you came with your james bond gear... cos today we're out to locate and eliminate some assassins that are targeting your relationships... May God help us to do justice to this... as usual, your opinions and additions are very important and welcome.
so we go straight into the business of the day,

    1. Too Many Expectations  –

bro many times you want her to know what you want without saying it? sister, you expect him to remember almost everything even when he has got several matters demanding his attention? Yes, we are in love and you sure mean a lot to us but we are human as well. Expect more and see more faults, expect less and you will be able to appreciate your partner more. i once read somewhere that instead of expectation you could replace it with expectancy... you know that expectant feeling when you don't know what your partner's gonna say or do? when you go to see your partner with the expectancy of having an interesting date? not necessarily an expectation of collecting a big gift? (you get the drift?) basically when you have too many expectations, you're a step away from easy disappointment, but when you go into a relationship without expecting the whole world, it makes it easier for your spouse to pleasantly surprise you. you would learn to appreciate the little things he/she does, instead of saying, isn't that what is expected of him/her?
try this exercize for a month,( for the ladies everytime you go out, calculate the amount spent and assume you have to pay, for the guys every time she pays her way to your place calcullate the amount she pays, the amount of the little things she buys for you, the litle things she does for you you would otherwise have paid for, document this down, and then at the end of the month see how much he/she has saved you) you will discover that the little things you take for granted actually sum up to a lot.

    2. Lies –

Well, this cannot be overstretched. it's an open secret that trust is the basis of any good relationship and the more you lie to your partner, the lesser he/she trusts you, and when trust is gone in a relationship, that’s trouble!

    3. Not sharing –

No one forms a relationship by themselves. It takes two to get at it. A balanced relationship demands the effort of the-two involved. It’s about what you-two bring to the center. The pressure would be one-sided if one person chooses to be greedy. Sharing is one of many things that powers a relationship and makes it balance. this cuts across finance to other aspects,

    4. Romance Wanted –

Absence of romance in a relationship makes it boring. There are ways to get at this, Romance is sensual and not always intimate.(i still believe in No to pre marital sex) Identify those things that could create an intimate moment, things that sponsors good connection between you- two and starting doing them. The importance is simply to keep the attraction alive.
a major mistake many men make here is that soon as they get married they stop doing all those things they did that got the girl so so excited to be with them. Marrriage shouldn't stop romance, it should open it up to a whole new level

    5. Blaming Your Partner -

Yes! Keep blaming your partner for everything that’s wrong in your relationship and watch it die slowly. When you see more of his/her faults, there will always be something to complain about and the more the
complains the more the relationship would lose its value. even if your partner is wrong, there are subtle ways to correct him/her without pouring blames outrightly, many times also the ability to shoulder blames for the good of the relationship is necessary

    6. Lack of Communication/ wrong communication –

Not in the area of phone calling or text messages though also important but specifically in the awareness of things to do or how to do them. Both parties must be kept abreast of what’s coming. Make your moves, schedules, work or some family related details clear to your partner. Always keeping them in the dark brings about uncertainties that could cause regular misunderstanding in a relationship. for instance i have a perfect example of my girlfriend that i could use to illustrate this point but i'm sorry i won't be able to because i haven't talked it over with her, and i know she hates publicity, so my going ahead to use her to illustrate this point would mean i am insensitive to her feelings(that's what i would be communicating by doing it)

    7. Cohabitation –

It’s one of the easiest ways to make your partner get fed up with the relationship. When you become too regular, so many things could lose its value and get lost accordingly.a man who is living with a woman he is not married too will sooner or later be seen as a leech or gold digger at the very least, and at worst as an irresponsible person who is not man enough, if not by the woman, then by her friends and family, and a woman who lives with a man she is not maried to will sooner or later lose her respect, as she will be expected to fulfill all the duties of a married woman, and before you know it, the man would not see any need to 'put a ring on it' since he has all the benefits provided by a ring and none of the 'bondage' of a ring. this is stirictly a no no. don't think about it.
below is a researched statisctics shown in graphical form

    8. Pretense –

You seem to be too cool at everything because you want to impress him/her, that’s trouble!what happened to being yourself? no matter how much you try to pretend one ay the pretense will wear off and him/her will see through you, or you pretend to like everything he/she says or does, you gotta learn to be open about the things you like and do not like.(of course wisdom and attimes tact in necesary in doing this,) but you can only pretend for so long. and the consequences are usually disastrous

    9. Poor Timing –

Whatsoever is sharing your quality time with your partner needs to be transferred on another time slot.
Having the space for regular conversation strengthens your relationship and if it’s an LDR,(Long Distance Relationship) you either could talk regularly on phone or pick a day or two in every week for this. Good time spent together reveals a lot, strengthens the bond, secures the relationship and it helps in no little measure.

and last but in no way the least

    10. Issues not discussed –

There could be some areas you desire to have your partner change or get better at. If you choose to keep mute about it and you such keeps receiving your attention and you just can't ignore, it kills relationships slowly. issues not discussed leads to pent up anger, emotions, rage and eventually terrible explotion from which there is usually no return.

in summary; If there are issues not discussed in a relationship, it could make both partners keep hurtful secrets and in-turn produce
beautiful lies. Blaming your partner while you appear to be without fault doesn't make you in-charge but out rightly discharging the strength of the union. Cohabiting, though allowed in many countries is one major reason relationships will always lose its value quickly and another reason men and women would be used and abandoned. Somethings do NOT go together with a relationship and do remember that the best of relationships comes with several sacrifices made.
Finally remember in all things to put God as the foundation of your relationship*in kore's voice*  "a three cord is not easily broken" (in fact i gotta review the whole song...)
